I don't know how much time I have to give a blog, ... I spend a lot of time on line as it is. Nonetheless, journaling is something I like to do. It sometimes help get things clear in our minds, or so I have found!
I am married to SSgt Roy Shreve (ret) USMC! Oorah! Being a Marine is an important part of his life. He explained to me the day we were married, it's true that once a Marine, always a Marine, the only difference in Marines is if they are in uniform or out! That makes sense to me, because while individuals in other service join and serve, the Marines are different because they are. They are fundamentally changed in a powerful, positive way. I'm proud to be his wife, and whatever happens, it's just one more thing we will get through together. Sometimes, I believe I spent my entire life being crafted to be Roy's wife, but then, that's how Our Daddy God works, ... if we allow HIm to, He will mold us to be the being He has created us to be, and use us, once we're broken, to carry out His plan for us.
Roy and I live in Oklahoma now. We met in Idaho, and I have to admit, I loved living in the cool crisp mountains of that beautiful place. I still miss living there, but the wisdom of Native Elders is exactly on target. Just as you never actually step in the same river twice because the current keeps changing what is there, so too is it impossible to go back to where you once lived and pick up exactly where you were. Everything has changed. The people I love are still there, but their lives are different now. They have other things they are doing, they have filled the spaces that were mine with other people things and events because I am no longer there. Sometimes my heart hurts because of this, but nonetheless, it is true. I do love Oklahoma though. I like living on our five wooded acres, ... I like having our own home. I like that we can put down roots here and that there's no drama in Oklahoma, ... we don't have to deal with those people and things we don't want to deal with. No one can find us unless we choose to allow them to and that's rather nice actually. I confess, I am becoming a home hermit! All I need, want, and love is here.
I have my precious Pounce cat whom has been a companion for me for the past twelve years, even longer than Roy and I have been married, actually. ;0) He is my best friend, and Pounce knows how to keep a secret well. he has his quirks, and a definite personality, but then, I have never picked my friends because they merely did what I wanted them to! *cheesy grin*
Well, this is enough for a start, I need to get busy and accomplish something in this house today! Even if it's merely a little thing, I want to get our home done as we would like it! ~ Sunny
